Installation, maintenance & troubleshooting
A concise service reference for Aquacube equipment. For repair work, refrigerant-system service or model-specific procedures, contact SCS for current technical guidance.
Installation location
- Install the ice maker in an area where ambient temperature will not fall below approximately 10°C.
- Allow adequate ventilation around the condensing unit and do not obstruct condenser air flow.
- Keep the machine level and provide enough working space for service access.
- Higher ambient and incoming-water temperatures reduce ice production. Consider a water chiller where necessary.
Plumbing lines & connections
- Use a suitable shut-off valve on the incoming water line.
- Install and maintain an appropriate water filter.
- Route drain lines with continuous fall to a suitable floor drain and ensure they are properly vented.
- Check all connections for leaks before commissioning.
Electrical
Electrical work should be carried out by a qualified person and must match the supply requirements shown for the specific machine. Check isolators, fusing, earthing and component connections before start-up.
Installation checklist
- Machine level and stable
- Water line flushed before connection
- Water filter installed and shut-off valves open
- Drain lines connected, vented and sloped correctly
- Clearance maintained around condenser air inlets/outlets
- Water curtain moves freely
- Float valve and sump water level checked
- Storage bin and ice maker sanitised before use
Cleaning & sanitising
Routine cleaning helps maintain production, hygiene and reliable sensor operation. Isolate power before dismantling or cleaning components. Remove scale with a cleaner compatible with the machine materials, rinse thoroughly, and sanitise food-contact surfaces before returning the machine to service.

Basic troubleshooting

| No water in sump | Water supply, filter restriction, inlet valve and float valve. |
| Long freezing cycle | Ambient/water temperature, condenser cleanliness, water level, leaks, refrigeration performance. |
| Long or failed harvest | Ice thickness, curtain movement, scale build-up, sensors/timers and hot-gas system. |
| Soft or white ice | Water distribution, scale in pump/distribution tube, water pressure and filtration. |
